Andrew
Christensen has over 20 years of racing experience in cycling and
running. As USA Cycling licensed coach, bike shop owner, and family
man, Andrew is in the advantageous position of sharing his experience
in his many years of riding as well as being familiar with the most
recent equipment and other resources available to cyclists. Balancing
a family life with twin toddlers along with racing and training allows
him to relate to those riders and racers looking to make their goals
happen while keeping on top of the daily demands of work and family.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Andrew was all-league
in track and cross country in high school and college until a series
of injuries culminated in reconstructive knee surgery and led him to
take up cycling for his rehabilitation. As a cyclist, his competitive
nature took over, and soon Andrew was racing against many of the
nation’s top professional and elite riders.
Most recently, Andrew has been racing in the masters division
with several top ten finishes to his credit even while juggling
training with professional and family life. As a father to
toddler twins, he knows that time management is key to any training
schedule and sometimes his hardest workouts are wrangling his kids!
Though no longer competing in national professional level racing
events, he still manages to compete in and finish the occasional
Pro1/2 local race to remember “the hurt” and to keep himself humble.
Andrew holds a United States Cycling Federation coaching license
and considers his coaching forte to be working with those riders who
wish to excel to the best of their ability with a limited amount
of training time. He has worked with triathletes to improve their
cycling and running times, recreational riders desiring to finish
multi-day recreational tours and racers wanting to achieve their USCF
upgrades. Always supportive and encouraging, Andrew believes his
riders perform their best through proper training and believing in
themselves.
